We accept proposals for shows on a continuing basis. Artists interested in exhibiting should understand the following:

  • The Engine Room Art Space is a program of the City of Hagerstown. All art displayed in the Engine Room Art Space must be free of profanities and sexually explicit content. The City has final say over appropriateness and may ask the artist to remove work that is considered offensive before the exhibit opens to the public.

  • Artists are responsible for installing and taking down their artwork.

  • Artists are responsible for providing all equipment and hardware needed for installation.

  • Artists are responsible for labeling their artwork with title, size, and price (if applicable).

  • The City of Hagerstown will provide a reception for each exhibition.

  • The City of Hagerstown will assist in show promotion via social media and copying flyers. Artists are responsible for creation of flyer.

  • The City of Hagerstown does not take commission on any sales. However, the artist is responsible for handling money and dealing with any transactions with buyer. City staff and gallery volunteers may not handle money on behalf of artists.



We ask for your name, address, contact information, website/social media site, several possible months you're intrested in showing, work samples, proposal, and resume.
